God loves to help those who fear Him.

"For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him."

Psalms 103:11

“For as the heaven is high above the earth,”
Wherever there is sin, great mercy is needed to deal with the sinner.  God is merciful, and His mercy toward man’s sin is visible each day.  The fact that we can get out of bed in the morning, go outside, and see that He has not destroyed His creatures and His creation during the night, shows us that He is a God of mercy.  He has withheld His judgment one more day.  Each sinner who is not God’s child has God’s judgment waiting for him/her.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him,” (John 3:36).

God’s anger is waiting, abiding, remaining on the sinner, till the day of Judgment.  Each day, new mercy allowing the sinner to live on God’s earth, breathing His air, drinking His water, and eating His food.  How long until God says, “It’s enough!”?  We do not know the exact time, but the Bible tells us that that day is coming for all sinners.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” (Hebrews 9:27).

But sinner, He has given you mercy for this moment, please turn to Him now, before your time is up.

How much mercy does God have for sinners?  Now that’s a good question.  We know that He didn’t send the great flood of Noah’s day until Methuselah died, as his name meant, “When he dies, it comes.”  God in mercy, held off His judgment until the longest living man on earth died, hoping that sinners would repent in the meantime.  When will the next judgment come?  We do not know.  We only know for sure that God is merciful.

“For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds,” (Psalm 57:10).

“So great is his mercy.”
We know that He is rich in mercy, and His mercy is great.  The psalmist describes His mercy in a way that we can understand it.  His mercy extends from the earth to the heavens.  Go outside tonight and look up at the stars of heaven, that’s how far God’s mercy reaches, from here to there!

“Toward them, that fear him.”
Who has the privilege of His great mercy?  “Them that fear Him!”  Yes, this mercy that reaches to heaven is for repentant, saved sinners.  His blood-bought children.  We who love Him and fear Him.

How great is our God?!
