I Love the LORD (Part 1)

Answered prayer is another reason to love God.

"I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications."

Psalms 116:1

Part 1

“I love the LORD,”
These are good words, important words.  It should be the shout from each redeemed soul.  The focal point of our love should be the Lord Jehovah.  He is the one we love, we adore, above any and all others.

“We love him, because he first loved us,” (1 John 4:19).

Maybe you have been challenged by the problem of trying to find a gift to give the person that “has it all.”  You know, they have money and plenty of things.  They don’t need anything.  So, what do you give them?  Good question!  But an even greater question is this, how do you show your LORD that you love Him?  Yes, we should tell Him that we love Him.  Beyond just words, how do we prove to Him our love?  Remember, He’s the one who gave us life.  He provided eternal life for us, through His Son.  He daily meets our needs.  We breathe His air, drink His water, and eat His food.  What can we give to our God?  Sure, we give Him our tithes and offerings, money that He’s given us the ability to earn.  We may even give Him some of our valuable time, if we aren’t too busy…  But these few tokens are just a pittance to what we owe so great a God, our God.

The first and best gift I can give my God, is me.  I give Him myself, “lock, stock and barrel!”  I am here on His earth for whatever He wants to do with me.  I take my hands off of my life and let Him have me.  I realize I am not much value to the wonderful Jehovah, but I let Him have access to all my life.  I am His.  Will you say this too?
