"And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by His own power."
1 Corinthians 6:14

Yesterday: God’s Authority over Lawsuits and Immorality in the Church
Believers do not go to the lost world to settle issues between believers. We belong to Christ, not the world. Immorality is unthinkable for God’s child.
Today: God’s Power in Resurrecting Jesus
“And God hath both raised up the Lord.”
He did raise Jesus!
The Lord’s disciples had no question about His resurrection. They were there; they were eyewitnesses. They shared the message of His resurrection with this sin weary world. The Gospel has the power to save and keep, even through death!
The New Testament is filled with text after text proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. The prophecy about Jesus is clear, from His own lips, “And they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again” (Matthew 17:23). And then Jesus was crucified, and He was buried, and then He rose again on the third day, just as He had promised! This is what His disciples witnessed, and believed and preached, let’s hear it from them.
[Jesus,] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it” (Acts 2:24).
“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses” (Acts 2:32).
“Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities” (Acts 3:26).
“The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree” (Acts 5:30).
“Him [Jesus,] God raised up the third day and showed Him openly” (Acts 10:40).
“God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that He raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David” (Acts 13:33-34).
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
It is a plain fact of history. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, arose from the dead! His Father planned this for His Son, and by it, salvation for lost sinners.
Jesus was raised up from death, as the Scriptures teach. What does that mean for believers? Come back tomorrow and see.
Quote: “The cross is the victory, the resurrection is the triumph…The resurrection is the public display of the victory, the triumph of the crucified one” [1] (Leon Morris).
