My God Is...

In my childhood, while growing up, my mother had several things she repeated for my edification. One of those lessons she wanted me to learn is, “Don’t talk to strangers.” That was good advice back then, and it is useful safety information for today as well. As we walk through our spiritual lives, we need to know that our God does not want to be a stranger to us. In fact, in His Word, there are hundreds of places where He tells us personal information about Himself that as His children we need to know. How many times have you had a problem and didn’t ask God for help just because you felt like you didn’t know Him well? Isn’t it harder to ask a friend that you don’t know very well for his help? Here is another reason for us to be in God’s Word every day so that we can get to know Him better. In this month’s series of blogs, each time we go to the Word we are looking for a truth, or wanting find a character statement that will help us to get to know God better. At the end of each devotion, you will see the statement, “My God is…” with a characteristic about Him. Let’s get in the habit of looking for information about our God from His Word. Let’s get to know Him! Don’t be a stranger to Him.

Shouldn't God's children be a reflection of His holiness?

"And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come."
