Humility and Pride

Why do we want to take a month of devotional blogs just to think about the subjects of humility and pride? Good question. But if we are really honest with ourselves we must acknowledge the fact that the subject of pride isn’t usually very far from any one of us. And as I think about my own heart, I recognize how my own pride is constantly rearing its ugly head in my life. The “old man” in me loves pride and resents humility. So at least for me what God says about humility and pride is something that I need to be reminded of often. We won’t have to look into God’s Word very long before we see that pride is something God hates, and humility is something He rewards. Since the very first sin by Lucifer in heaven, God has hated pride. And if you think about it, since all sin is pointed at God, and all sin has pride as its basis, it is no wonder why God detests it so much. So for this month let’s see what God has to say about it.

The greatness of our God is seen in His Person, Works, and in His Dwelling Places.

God deserves our endless praise.  When we honor Him, the humble in heart are pleased.

"I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad."
